We were at the Manila Film Center in CCP to watch Amazing Show, a musical show featuring popular tunes from musicals and traditional dances of different countries.
The building's front exterior wall featured colorful city designs like this one:

Amazing Show was open to local and foreign tourists, but the discounted rates were only for Filipinos. Even their Ensogo promo was open only to Filipinos. The ticket's regular price was P500 and it was great that the Ensogo price was only P250 -- it made the show affordable for a lot more Pinoys. In my review of Shakespeare in Hollywood, I lamented that few Pinoys watch plays, so making Amazing Show affordable would hopefully encourage more people too see theater as a good medium for entertainment, instead of viewing theater as only for the rich and the sophisticated.
We came in about half an hour before the show's start. Like us, the other folks who arrived early took the opportunity to take pictures in the lobby.
To have uninterrupted enjoyment, I visited the comfort room before the show started and was glad to see that it was pretty and clean.
Back to the theater. We spent a few minutes waiting for the other folks to get settled in.

It was announced that pictures and videos were not allowed during the show, so we had to turn off our cameras.
The performers wore eye-catching, colorful, and glittery costumes. The sets were beautiful and the performers were gorgeous. The songs were lip-synced but that did not detract from the enjoyment. There were lots of sexy outfits but the numbers were wholesome so the show was family-friendly.
The show featured numbers from Dreamgirls, Phantom of the Opera, Cabaret, and Fame. Traditional Chinese dances, Korea's Arirang fan dance and our very own Igorot and Muslim dances were also included. Thanks to Amazing Show's quirky version, I had a newfound respect for Bjork's It's Oh So Quiet, which I previously didn't like much; I was singing that song for days after the show.
Their performance of the popular Korean song Nobody was also fun. The group of foreigners sitting in front of us were clapping along, clearly enjoying themselves. There was also a doble cara number and performers would sometimes approach the audience members seated in the front rows and interact with them. My favorite number would have to be that traditional Korean dance with what sounded to me was a K-Rock song.
After the show, the audience could meet and have their pictures taken with some of the performers in the lobby. We were pressured to give tips to some of them though. Quite understandable, but it would have been better if they just had a tip box nearby as that would have seemed more professional.
Many (if not all) of the star performers were gay and a lot of them were very pretty. So if you're an extreme homophobe or the type of woman who gets bitter and depressed when seeing gays much prettier than you are, this show is not for you. Otherwise, bring your friends, bring your family, and enjoy the show!
