We went to 7-11 Edsa-Quezon Ave to buy a basic set of Crayola crayons. I saw the price (P17) so I handed a P20 bill to the cashier. I was surprised that he asked me to give him P9 more. I thought maybe I saw the wrong price so I gave him the P9.
I checked the receipt and it said P29 alright.
Out of curiosity, I went back to the school supplies section. Sure enough, the tag said P17, almost half the price encoded in their computer!
I hope they check and correct any conflicting prices soon.

oh! you are very keen and able to check the price difference of the crayola. at least now 7-11 will be more careful in putting prices on price tag and Point Of Sale (POS) terminal.you did a lot of consumers a huge favor! thank you!!
ReplyDeleteThat was my only purchase that time so it was easy to notice. I've read from another site that even the big stores have inaccurate records, we just don't notice the discrepancy because we buy a lot of items and thus are unable to keep tabs on the total.
DeleteOh, wow. It's a good thing you noticed. Did you complain ? Diba lowest price prevails ?
ReplyDeleteI informed 7-11 about it via Facebook.
DeleteThat is awful. Isn't there a DTI policy that the price tag prevails. That store should be reported.
ReplyDeleteI think there is such a policy. I called 7-11 Philippines' attention to this post via Facebook and they promptly replied that they would double check their prices and tags.
DeleteWhy 7-eleven? I'm sure Divisoria is way way cheaper.
ReplyDeleteYeah but it was just an impulse buy and that was the only thing I bought :D
DeleteNyeks! Seriously P17 to P29!? False printing if I must say.. If I were you, I would've showed them the tag on the display. If they won't change it, I won't buy from them.
ReplyDeleteAng layo naman ng difference. They should do something about it. Hopefully, they apologized to you in a way they should.
ReplyDeletethis should have been brought to their attention... never the less, thanks for informing
ReplyDeleteyup told them about it
DeleteI heard mahal talaga jan sa 7-Eleven. What a dope some of the department stores have become now.
ReplyDeleteyup mahal talaga sa 7-eleven. you're paying more for the convenience kasi.
DeleteIm also a victim of that. buti nlng napansin nung friend ko..
ReplyDeletedid you complain? sayang yun.
wow, overprice! they MUST check it.. kung anu nun sis, hindi ko na binili, hehehe
ReplyDeleteThis has happened to me more than once not just in 7-eleven. They always give an excuse. Oh well...
ReplyDeleteI think it happens a lot, we just don't notice because we buy a lot of items. It is another reason why I dislike the trend of groceries not putting tags on individual items. It's harder to check the prices and the total.
Deletehope you get their attention to correct the error... masisira sila sa mga customers nyan. Yahweh bless.
ReplyDeleteOuch! This is bad.. Hope 7-11 would take action on this. Most of their branches ksi walang managers to supervise the store. Most of the tiime, its just the cashier and the guard. Tsk tsk.
ReplyDeleteBeing in keen is just fine.
ReplyDeleteWe really have to get what our money's worth.
I am not very particular with comparing prices because
every shop or store has prices lower than the other or higher
in some goods but I never encounter such experience.
wow..it's so keen of you to notice it. But it's helpful anyway. At least we are warned where to buy and not to buy. For practicality's sake, buy the item where it is cheaper.
